International Gaucher Day 'Rare But Not Alone'

Are you ready to celebrate International Gaucher Day?

This  is an opportunity to remind us that we are not alone. This years campaign headline is “OVERCOMING CHALLENGES, LIVING LIFE.”

Please read  the amazing stories from our friends Michaela, Aimee-Kate, Per, and Nenad, which they have kindly shared with us.

Let us show  the strength of the  Gaucher community, a force which helps us to overcome everyday challenges of Gaucher disease.

Whoever you choose to celebrate IGD, Gaucher disease is a challenge which unites us under the same flag-flag which celebrates life, bravery, and solidarity wherever we are.

So wave with flags and send greetings to the patients all around the world. And don’t forget to share photos with us.

To submit your stories or for further assisitance please contact  Chris at  or Biljana at

  • holding a patient and family meeting/lecture with clinicians
  • distributing information about IGD and Gaucher Disease - see our Fact Sheet
  • sending out the printed IGD materials supplied by the EGA to all its member associations
